Data & Consent Notice

What is saved, what is submitted, and how contact consent and any later interval-data authority are handled.

Effective 31 August 2026

Nothing is submitted until you choose to submitDraft answers may be stored on your own device for up to 30 days. Online requests are sent only after the required service-contact consent is selected.

1. Browser drafts

Commercial, home and off-grid forms can save draft answers in your browser so you can continue the form. Drafts can include contact, business, NMI and consent information, plus an uploaded file name. The bill file itself is not stored in browser draft storage.

Drafts expire 30 days after their last update. Use the “Clear saved draft” control on a form to remove it sooner. Clearing browser data can also remove the draft.

2. Bill uploads

You may upload a PDF, JPG or PNG electricity bill of up to 10 MB. A bill can contain personal information, account details, supply address, NMI, tariff and usage information. Upload only a bill you are authorised to provide.

When an online request is enabled and submitted, the bill is encrypted before database storage. The original customer filename is not retained by the server.

3. Contact consent

The required contact checkbox permits EBN Australia to contact you only about the review or service you requested. It does not enrol you in promotional email or SMS.

Providing a mobile number does not prove ownership of that number. Unless a separate verified process is completed, the request is recorded as unverified.

4. Business details and interval-data authority

The website form asks a business requester to confirm that they are authorised to provide the business, site and bill details for the requested review. This confirmation is not an interval-data authority.

If interval data is needed, EBN Australia will first confirm the business, site/NMI, authorised requester and recipient, data scope, authority period, withdrawal method and the format required by the relevant provider. A separate provider-specific authority must be completed before any interval-data request is made.

5. Service providers and referrals

The minimum necessary information may be shared with approved hosting, IT-security, retailer, metering-data or referral service providers where required for the requested service and the relevant authority or consent is confirmed. Current hosting uses Singapore, with backups displayed in India (Mumbai).

6. Retention

Unsubmitted drafts expire after 30 days. Requests and website copies of bills that do not need a longer approved purpose are normally deleted within 90 days after the last meaningful activity or delivery of the review. When minimum necessary information is transferred to an approved customer system, the website lead-store copy is normally deleted within 30 days after confirmed transfer. Provider backups may retain a deleted record until the backup cycle expires.

7. Withdraw or ask for deletion

Email review@energybillnavigator.com.au to withdraw future contact consent, ask us not to act on an authority that has not yet been used, or request access, correction or deletion. Identity and authority may need to be checked before action is taken.
